Founded in 1992, Writing Research Associates (WRA) is a European partnership which initiates and organises cross-disciplinary projects in the field of contemporary performance arts.

WRA specialises in initiating projects concerned with relationships between contemporary performance arts and the body, new information and media technologies, writing and ecology.

WRA works independently and in association with educational and professional institutions to bring people from different cultural, aesthetic and disciplinary backgrounds together in projects which encourage exchange and new perspectives.

WRA is committed to professional and independent development in the field of performance arts through practical and theoretical research.

WRA works internationally to promote networks of research and exchange through workshops, conferences and publications.

WRA is actively involved in developing electronic resources (see online) and networks for individual practitioners, scholars and organisations working in the field of contemporary performance arts.
