Touch Terrain is a mixed reality interactive performance environment. Participants are challenged to lose familiar perceptive references altering dominant perceptive hierarchies. How would you feel, what would you do finding yourself in a blank space, accompanied by a mutating avatar? (2 participants wear glasses and mobcap sensors) Blind to the physical world, you run into things. However, only this contact with physical reality offers you a certain landscape. A tree, a flower, a mountain. Regaining visual reference through touch, you locate the avatar. But, why can't you see yourself as you feel? You will, continuing the physical interaction with the mutator/participant. Touching it, you suddenly see yourself as another avatar. Sensing bodies > feeling and being felt > seeing bodies. An inter-subjective synesthesia.
