"Sleep is not the opposite of awake". SLEEP is an interactive installation by HUMATIC ® in cooperation with international media artists and scientists, based on the ideas of the choreographer Emily Fernandez. The project is supported by ZKM, Centre for Art and Media, Karlsruhe, Germany. The contents are : - Encounter with a sleeping person -- apparent interference between the visitor and the sleeper-- witnessing her sleep and dreams. The means of expressions are those of dance and film (Choreography & cinematographic design). The audience takes on the role of the counterpart in this duet with the option of divulging some of their partner's secrets. A multitude of movies, music, spoken word and graphic elements are arranged in a media pool. Sensor detected visitors access and influence their appearance.
