Frieder Weiss & Emily Fernandez -- "Perceivable Bodies - the Search for Small Detail"

Perceivable Bodies: The technological age has fundamentally changed mankind's understanding. At the same time that computers learn to behave in a more intelligent and human way, human nature becomes more and more interpreted as technical and functional. This dance performance interrogates the representation of the body and changed perceptions in a media enriched dance performance. It uses a refined composition of video motion sensing, realtime interactive visuals and a sound score that is generated live and driven by the dancer's movement. Dance performers are exposed to an abstract system that appears to simply follow their movements, but inherently has a strong feedback on their perception, expression and movement quality. The audience is seated closely surrounding the floor projection stage.
